I am not a crafty person. Quite frankly, I’d rather be watching tv with my children. If you are stuck inside for days at a time (current COVID-19 quarantine) and you don’t want your children sitting in front of the TV for weeks at a time, here are a few activities you can try. Games and toys get old after a while, and that leaves me in a tough spot. Last year I shared 6 things to do when you can’t go outside and play, but let’s face it, you can’t just do the same thing all the time. Your children will get bored, frustrations will start increasing and you might feel your ‘happiness’ turning into vapor. Let’s be honest.. being stuck inside with a bunch of children can get stressful, but we if we make an effort we can make this time stuck inside more enjoyable for all of us. It can also be a great learning time for both adults and children.
6 Activities To Do If You Are Stuck Inside
Jamie at Hands On As We Grow has some awesome activities for kids of all ages that are simple, and totally doable for even non-crafty people like me. You probably have everything you need in your house already – if you don’t I’m sure a quick search on Amazon will get you whatever you need within a couple of days at most.
Cereal Handprint Trees. A fun craft and a great keepsake! Add in some pictures of yourselves and make it a family tree.
Balancing Beam. This would be a huge hit in my house! It can also be a good learning time for younger children who are just learning how to balance. Just be careful because you don’t want anyone getting hurt.
Coffee Filter Flowers. A fun project you can display proudly. This might be something you will need to order online but filters are usually fairly cheap and you can get a lot of them without breaking the bank.
Pom Pom Target Practice. Honestly, this looks like fun for the whole family. What could be better than blowing pom poms around the room?
Snowy Windowscape. Use the nasty weather to make your house prettier and decorate from the inside out.
Pop Bottle Bowling. Set up a bowling alley in your hallway and go for a strike. You can be really ambitious and set up a family tournament.
